Join OSM Thome as Chief Cook on an Oil/Chemical Tanker trading in Canadian waters. Take charge of the galley, prepare good, healthy meals for the crew, and keep high standards of hygiene and food safety on board.
- Key responsibilities:
- Plan menus and prepare daily meals for officers and crew
- Manage food stores, ordering and stock control
- Ensure proper hygiene, cleaning and safe handling of food
- Follow company standards and flag/port health regulations
- Work closely with the Master and officers on catering budget and provisions
- Support a positive, safe and healthy onboard living environment
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Chief Cook on tankers (oil/chemical preferred)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good knowledge of galley safety and food hygiene standards
- Ability to plan menus and manage multicultural crew diets
- Good English communication skills
- Valid travel documents and readiness to join in Canada
