Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer (2/E) on oil/chemical tankers trading in USA and Canada. We are looking for a hands-on, safety-minded officer with strong engine room experience and good teamwork skills.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and systems
- Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs on main engine, auxiliaries and deck/engine equipment
- Monitor fuel, lube oil and consumables; ensure proper record keeping and reporting
- Supervise engine room ratings and ensure safe working practices
- Support bunkering operations and pollution prevention procedures
- Ensure compliance with company, flag state, class and tanker industry standard.
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) CoC, STCW-compliant
- Tanker experience on oil/chemical vessels
- All mandatory STCW safety and tanker endorsements
- Good command of English, written and spoken
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and vaccinations as required
- Strong safety attitude and good leadership in the engine room
