Join OSM Thome as Safety Technician on a PSV operating offshore Rio de Janeiro. In this role you help ensure safe deck and shipboard operations, support the crew in following safety rules, and keep safety equipment ready for use at all times.
- Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and promote safe work practices on deck and in all work areas
- Support and participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety drills
- Inspect and maintain safety and lifesaving equipment as directed
- Report unsafe acts, near-misses and incidents to the responsible officers
- Assist in safety training and familiarization of crew and contractors
- Follow company HSE procedures and flag/state regulations
- Requirements:
- Previous offshore / maritime experience in a safety-related role
- Technical or vocational background relevant to safety or marine operations
- Knowledge of HSE standards and safe work practices on board vessels
- Valid offshore and medical certificates as required for Brazil
- Ability to work in a multinational crew and communicate clearly in English
