We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer for a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Join OSM Thome and take full charge of the engine department, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable vessel operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engine room team
- Oversee safe operation and maintenance of all machinery and equipment
- Plan and supervise repairs, inspections and routine maintenance
- Ensure compliance with class, flag state, company and international regulations
- Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and ensure proper engine performance
- Maintain technical records, reports and documentation
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer license (unlimited), STCW compliant
- Recent experience as Chief Engineer on bulk carriers
- Strong knowledge of main engine, auxiliaries and shipboard systems
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Valid STCW certificates and valid medical fitness
- Strong leadership, safety mindset and problem-solving skills
