Join OSM Thome as Chief Engineer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Lead the engine department, keep all machinery in top working condition, and ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise all engine room operations and engine staff
- Oversee maintenance and repair of main engine, auxiliaries, and all machinery
- Ensure safe, economical, and compliant operation of all technical systems
- Plan and follow up on PMS, class, and flag requirements
- Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and condition
- Prepare technical reports and keep engine room records updated
- Support a strong safety culture and lead by example
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer CoC for seagoing vessels
- Recent experience as C/E or 1/E on bulk carriers
- Good knowledge of engine room systems, PMS, and safety procedures
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good English communication skills
- Strong leadership and teamwork attitude
