Pumpman – Tanker (Chemical)
Description
Pumpman required for Hong Kong-flagged chemical tanker trading in HRA area. Candidate must have solid hard chemical tanker experience and be ready for safe cargo operations and maintenance of cargo systems. Joining port: TBC.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor cargo pumps, lines, valves and manifolds during cargo operations
- Assist Chief Officer with loading, discharging and tank cleaning of chemical cargoes
- Maintain and repair cargo pumps, stripping pumps and associated pipework
- Ensure proper flushing, draining and line-up of cargo systems
- Keep cargo pump room and deck cargo areas clean, safe and well maintained
- Follow company and vessel safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
- Report defects, leaks and unsafe conditions promptly to deck officers
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year sea service as Pumpman on chemical tankers
- Proven hard chemical cargo handling experience
- Good knowledge of cargo pump room operations and safety
- Ability to read and follow cargo plans and line-up instructions
- Fit for duty and able to work in enclosed and hazardous areas following safety rules
- Valid STCW certificates as required for rank and vessel type
