An ocean of opportunities! Join one of the most advanced rock dumping vessels operating in the North Sea. We are looking for an experienced Crane Operator / Excavator Operator to take on a key dual-role position.
About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Crane Operator / Excavator Operator for the Rock Star, a modern rock dumping vessel operating primarily in the North Sea.
This dual-role position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of both the vessel's crane and excavator equipment during offshore rock placement and subsea construction activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the bridge team, deck crew, and project personnel to ensure operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
Vessel: Rock Star – Rock Dumping Vessel
Location: Primarily North Sea operations
Rotation: 5 weeks on/ 5 weeks off
Start Date: 1st January 2026
About the Job
As a Crane Operator / Excavator Operator, you will play a vital role in supporting offshore rock placement projects, subsea protection works, cable protection campaigns, and offshore construction activities.
The role requires a high level of operational awareness, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining safe working practices in a dynamic offshore environment.
Responsibilities
Operate offshore crane equipment safely and efficiently.
Operate onboard excavator during rock placement and subsea construction activities.
Support rock dumping and subsea protection operations.
Carry out pre-use inspections and routine equipment checks.
Monitor lifting operations in accordance with approved procedures.
Ensure compliance with company safety management systems and client requirements.
Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety meetings.
Assist with maintenance and reporting of equipment defects.
Work closely with bridge officers, deck crew, and project teams during offshore operations.
Minimum Requirements:
Previous experience as a Crane Operator and Excavator Operator in the offshore or marine industry.
Experience working onboard offshore construction, dredging, rock dumping, or subsea vessels is preferred.
Valid Offshore Crane Operator Certificate.
Excavator Operator Certificate/Competency.
Good understanding of lifting operations and offshore safety procedures.
Strong communication skills in English.
Ability to work effectively within a multicultural offshore environment.
Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate
