Salén Ship Management AB is a ship management company based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Our mission is to manage small expedition- and destination cruise ships at a very high standard and our fleet contains of three small passenger ships operating world-wide.
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for passage planning and Transas system.
- Responsible for GMDSS.
- Responsible for Navigational Equipment.
Specific Responsibilities: - Maintaining a safe navigational watch and safe pilotage at sea.
- Delegated responsibility for safety and security of vessel while on watch in port or at sea.
- Maintaining, completing planned maintenance and testing navigational equipment and reporting all defects to the Captain and reporting completed planned maintenance jobs entered into K-Fleet.
- To record all incidents and tests of equipment in accordance with regulation 17 of Chapter IV of the convention for Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) 1974 as amended. The Bahamas Radio log shall be completed for this purpose in accordance with instructions contained in the Radio Log and updated in the planned maintenance system. The Officer should present the log to the Master for inspection and signing. Logs should be kept of all daily, weekly and monthly tests as prescribed by SOLAS and recorded in the Radio Log.
- Performing voyage planning for Captains approval and using all means necessary to plan safest possible passage plan.
- Keeping chart folios, publications and vessels Transas ECDIS system updated and correct up to latest received “Notices to Mariners”.
- Adhere to the company standards regarding dress and appearance.
- Any assignment issued by immediate Supervisor
Required:Availability of ice certificate and previous experience of navigation in ice waters is a must.
