Salén Ship Management AB is a ship management company based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Our mission is to manage small expedition- and destination cruise ships at a very high standard and our fleet contains of three small passenger ships operating world-wide.

• Ensure AV/IT systems has not been tampered with i.e., they are performing as designed and as agreed with SSM office and company suppliers for AV/IT equipment.
• Ensure LAN network and its components and design has not been tampered with i.e., changes to LAN that is not advised with IT supplier.
• Prevent misunderstandings of the equipment’s performance by having in depth knowledge of the systems capabilities, and ability to explain this to the charter and crew onboard the vessel. Create and deploy information posters, user manuals etc.
• Handle requests from charter representatives and ensuring those are forwarded to SSM office for consideration.
• Handle basic issues with AV/IT equipment when it is not functioning as designed.
• Report issues - which cannot be solved without support - to the designated support desk ashore.
• Communicate with and follow instructions from suppliers of AV/IT systems.
• Maintain and keep adequate inventory of spares for AV/IT systems.
• Administrating the AV/IT section of the planned maintenance system.
• Maintain and document the physical LAN network, plan, and perform upgrades along with IT supplier.
• Handle change request from crew or charterer and coordinate with supplier when necessary.
• Assist AV/IT supplier to perform onboard task when necessary.
• Checking for the requested repairs every morning as per the AVO reporting system and to carry out and or arrange for the soonest remedies. In cases of implication in the process, the Chief Engineer to be advised.
• Planning and performing daily maintenance and repairs, such as replacing lights and assisting chief electrician with daily maintenance.
• Ensure safe working practice is followed on electrical installations.
• Adhere to the company standards regarding dress and appearance.
• Any other assignment issued by Chief Electrician or Chief Engineer
