Contribution and AimThe position is responsible for recruiting qualified crew according to the requirements of the Customers, in accordance with legal requirements and company policies. The position also maintains general monitoring of crew requirements, and lead improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities and role(s)
- Source for qualified applicants to fulfill the crew requirements of the Customers.
- Conduct initial screening according to the qualifications required by the Customers.
- Ensure that all required documents of the candidates are collected and scanned (COP/TESDA Certificate, Seaman’s Book, Passport, Yellow Fever Vaccination, NBI)
- Responsible for ensuring that the application system information of the applicants is updated with the required information and all documents related to the application.
- Check and ensure that the original documents of the applicants are valid and authentic.
- Conduct a background check with the candidate's previous working experience.
- Proactively provide updates regarding recruitment activities and status of requirements.
- Provide relevant information regarding recruitment industry practices, trends, and other benchmarking data to make the Company more competitive and preferred employer by seafarers.
- Develop and maintain connections on the training centers, maritime associations and external providers to strengthen and broaden the Company’s sources of applicants.
- Provide information or feedback to the applicants on the status of their application.
- Provide reports including the status of requirements based on Principal demands which maybe used to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment campaigns and efforts.
- Propose new strategies, processes, and practices for the department including marketing, market intelligence, sourcing strategies and platforms, etc.
- Ensure the integrity of data and information posted to recruitment internal and external facilities.
- Build a strong pool of candidates for future needs.
- May carry out collateral duties as delegated by the Immediate Superior.
Required Competencies
- Extensive experience in the field of recruitment
- Experience in recruiting manpower in the same industry is an advantage
- Experience in quality assurance/quality management system
- At least a graduate of any bachelor’s degree; process-related courses is an advantage.
- Experience in Kaizen and other process improvement projects and lean or Six Sigma certifications is an advantage
- Good communication skills – written and verbal
- Proficient in the use of Office Productivity tools
- Detail-oriented
- Good negotiation skills
- Able to generate reports and statistical analysis
- Knowledge in using various online media for sourcing
