OSM Thome Recruitment is looking for experienced Assistant Joiners andCarpenters for unique career opportunities in the cruise industry, on behalf of Carnival Cruise Line.
As part of our customers amazing Engine Team Assistant Carpenters are responsible for maintaining the wood structures in the Guest and Crew areas. Assisting with refurbishment and new installation in crew areas and Responding to work orders and repair requests the helping to maintain the ship.
Rotation: 6 months on / 2 months off.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Carrying out refurbishment, repairs, and new installation in Guest and Crew areas as instructed by the Team Leader.
- Provides night call assistance on a rotation basis as scheduled by the Team Leader
- Performs routine inspections of all Guest and Crew areas under his specific responsibility (i.e., doors handle, locks or hinges, malfunctions, public area loose trims decoration.)
- Responsible for learning the proper use of tools and equipment and P.P.E. as instructed by the Team Leader.
- Assist the freshwater bunkering operations. The Asst Joiner designated by the Team Leader/Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for this task.
- Ensure that all aspects of the company's OH&S are effectively applied during his/her working activities.
- Perform Backstage services.
- Carry out night beeper duties as requested by the Team Leader
- Ensuring that all aspects of the company's environmental policies and safety procedures are applicable to his/her job tasks,
- Attend all Safety drills and training as required.
- Any other reasonable task assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager or Team Leader
Qualifications and competence:
- High School Diploma, Technical training - Carpentry, Woodwork
- Proven working experience as Carpenter
- Covid 19 Certificate
- US Visa C-1/D is preferred however not required at the time of application (the transit and crewmember VISA must be obtained before start date)
- Basic STCW Trainings
- Health certificate
- English Language proficiency
