OSM Thome is seeking an experienced Water Boss for an offshore construction project in Denmark. As a Water Boss, you will oversee our vessel fleet's operational and technical aspects, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. You will be a key liaison between the ship's crew, the company, and external regulatory bodies. Below is the job description outlining the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:

Position Overview:

• Role: Water Boss
• Location: Foreshore operations between Denmark and Germany. Based in Rødbyhavn (shore accommodation will be provided during off-shift hours).
• Company: Femern Link Contractors (FLC)
• Project: Design and construction of Northern Europe’s longest-immersed tunnel
• Rotation: 28 days on/off
• Taxation: Varies and will be discussed with shortlisted candidates

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of vessels in the fleet.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of anchor handling, floating line operations, and sinker deployment activities.
• Guide vessel staff and assist in resolving operational issues.
• Act as part of the emergency response team, providing support during incidents such as accidents, pollution, or mechanical failures.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software tools.
• In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, standards, and safety procedures.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Previous experience as a Bosun (Boatswain) or Second Mate on offshore construction, dredging or anchor handling.
