Information about the job:

  • Contract: 12 months (renewable)
  • Rotation: 56/28 or 90/28 days on/off depending on project location

Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:

  • Preferably possess a Technical High School Diploma or a background in civil, mechanical, electrical, or naval engineering.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • 2-3 years of prior experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with mandatory offshore expertise.
  • Previous experience as a Junior Barge Foreman, Deck Foreman or Welder Foreman.

Tasks:

  • Assist the 1st Assistant or, if not assigned, the Offshore Construction Manager in coordinating interdisciplinary activities on board.
  • Supervise construction crews, including foremen and supervisors, across various disciplines to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Keep the 1st Assistant and Offshore Construction Manager informed of potential issues and the current status of construction activities.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer, Vessel Equipment Engineer, and subcontractor supervisors to ensure proper coordination of assigned tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to the Permit-to-Work system for construction crews and conduct daily Toolbox Talks and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) as required.
  • Motivate construction crews and subcontractors to maintain high levels of health, safety, and environmental awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies and safety procedures to perform activities safely.
  • Report incidents and near-miss events promptly.
  • Provide a detailed construction report at the end of each shift.
  • Assist the Vessel Field Engineer in monitoring project equipment and consumables, as well as overseeing the operation of the stinger and Jacket Launching Tower (JLT).
  • Ensure all rigging gear is up-to-date and properly marked.
  • Report directly to the 1st Assistant or, if not assigned, to the Offshore Construction Manager.
