OSM Thome Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our high-performing culinary team at sea. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in line with corporate standards, maintaining food safety protocols, and delivering consistent, well-executed dishes across a variety of kitchen sections. The ideal candidate brings strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence in every plate.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Prepare basic menu items as directed by the supervisor, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Exhibit advanced knife skills and strong knowledge of fundamental culinary techniques.
  • Work efficiently across all kitchen sections as needed, adapting to menu and service changes.
  • Follow standardized company recipes, ensuring taste, texture, and presentation meet brand expectations.
  • Maintain full compliance with all Public Health standards (USPH, Anvisa, Shipsan, Canadian, Australian, etc.) within assigned station.
  • Keep the designated area clean, sanitized, and ready for both scheduled and surprise health inspections.
  • Report to duty punctually, in proper uniform, and maintain professional grooming and hygiene at all times.
  • Support cost control initiatives by using equipment, ingredients, and supplies responsibly and efficiently.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and collaborate effectively with culinary team members in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Qualifications and competence:

  • Minimum of 4 years of culinary experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or high-volume banquet operation.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Line Cook or equivalent role (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Culinary degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary terms, food safety standards, and recipe execution.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to adapt to a multicultural and dynamic work environment with professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities; able to follow structured service timelines.
  • Intermediate computer literacy and understanding of basic accounting principles such as inventory tracking, portioning, and cost control.
  • Capable of preparing reports, business correspondence, and collaborating effectively with senior kitchen leadership and shipboard officers.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to understand, follow, and provide verbal and written instructions.
