Position Summary:

As a Restaurant Attendant, you will support the seamless delivery of exceptional food and beverage service across various onboard dining venues, including Room Service, Windjammer, Complimentary Dining, and more. This role is vital in enhancing guest satisfaction through courteous service, accurate order handling, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The Restaurant Attendant ensures professional interactions with guests and crew while assisting with key food service tasks and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in rotational service delivery across multiple dining and room service venues.
  • Ensure guest privacy and follow security protocols during in-stateroom service.
  • Deliver meals to staterooms in a prompt, professional manner, per company standards.
  • Arrange trays and table settings appropriately for room service deliveries.
  • Present and describe food and beverage offerings using correct terminology.
  • Provide recommendations to guests and promote specialty items to support management goals.
  • Relay orders to the galley and serve food and drinks from designated service stations.
  • Garnish dishes as required and ensure proper food presentation before service.
  • Enter orders into the POS system accurately and efficiently.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond to additional requests promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of work areas, in compliance with USPH and company regulations.
  • Assist in setting tables, replacing linens, and clearing dirty dishes in dining venues.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions, meetings, and participate in safety drills.
  • Follow ServSafe alcohol service guidelines and ensure responsible beverage service.
  • Support teammates and provide guidance to Assistant Waiters/Waiters when needed.
  • Take ownership of guest interactions by resolving issues and delivering alternatives.


Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in food and/or beverage service, preferably in a 4- or 5-star setting; banquet experience is a plus.
  • Completion of high school or equivalent education preferred.
  • Familiarity with buffet and room service food items and standards.
  • Strong customer service skills aligned with Royal Caribbean’s “The Royal Way.”
  • Ability to distinguish between different beverage types and brands.
  • Willingness to follow food safety standards including HACCP and USPH guidelines.
  • Completion of Ben & Jerry’s scooping/presentation procedure (when applicable).
  • Internal candidates must meet eligibility as outlined in the Career Eligibility File.


Language Requirements:

  • Ability to speak and understand English clearly and professionally.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting written procedures, safety instructions, and order details.
  • Additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Portuguese are preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and carry trays for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Full use of arms, legs, vision, and hearing for emergency drills and life-saving procedures.
  • Must be able to taste and smell food for quality assurance.
