Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:

  • Strong knowledge of diver reclaim systems and associated control equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with gas booster and transfer compressors, including full mechanical rebuilds.
  • Skilled in gas filtration and conducting gas purity tests.
  • Ability to fabricate, clean (O₂ clean), install, and pressure-test gas and fluid pipework.
  • Proficient in maintaining and calibrating a wide range of valves and pressure regulators (Tescom, back pressure, relief, pilot types, etc.).
  • Certified and experienced in servicing diving helmets, band masks, and bibs (JFD training preferred).
  • Deep technical understanding of Haskel high-pressure pumps and air-driven water pumps.
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, including safe Freon handling and servicing.
  • Familiar with launch and recovery of dive systems, including SPHL procedures and emergency operations.
  • Ability to conduct load tests and maintain associated mechanical equipment (winches, sheaves, limiters).
  • IMCA standards compliance: D023, D024, D018, and D063.
  • Experience with pressure vessels, cylinder inspection, O₂ cleaning, and testing.
  • Skilled in using maintenance platforms (e.g., AMOS), conducting FMEA trials, and supporting audits/surveys.
  • Documented experience of at least 300 technical dive days (must be verifiable in logbook).
  • Proficiency in English.

Tasks:

  • Operate and troubleshoot diver reclaim systems during active diving operations.
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and system rebuilds on reclaim and compressor units.
  • Service, test, and maintain gas delivery components and filtration systems.
  • Install and test new pipework and hoses; fabricate custom solutions as needed.
  • Maintain and calibrate a range of pressure control valves and regulators.
  • Complete full service and upkeep of personal dive equipment with certified practices.
  • Strip, rebuild, and commission Haskel and water pumps to spec.
  • Manage launch and recovery processes for divers and diving bells, including emergency drills.
  • Oversee maintenance and safe function of umbilicals, winches, and support gear.
  • Conduct regular servicing and safe gas handling within onboard refrigeration systems.
  • Support compliance efforts for audits, including IMCA and DNV, and assist with technical documentation.
  • Maintain all equipment to high standards of cleanliness and performance, ensuring diver safety.
