Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings, including tolerances and detailed work instructions.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience operating manual lathes and milling machines in either onshore and offshore settings.
- Skilled in fabricating steel components based on samples or technical drawings.
- Familiarity with parallel lathe operations.
- Capable of performing routine maintenance on machining tools following manufacturer guidelines.
- Commitment to safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
- Proficiency in English.
Tasks:
- Operate manual machining equipment—such as lathes, mills, and drills—to manufacture steel parts within specified tolerances.
- Utilize CNC machinery when available and within skill set.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment within the machine shop.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the machine shop environment.
- Participate in safety meetings and job safety analyses as required.
- Report directly to the 2nd Engineer.
