Assistant Housekeeping Manager owns the guests experience in Staterooms, offering a seamless execution of premium service coordinating and overseeing Stateroom Attendants work. As part of the housekeeping team, the Assistant Housekeeping Manager is proactively predicting every guest’s needs and expectations. An assistant Housekeeping Manager must have outstanding hospitality, communication, and organizational skills in addition to effective decision-making abilities.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily housekeeping operations in staterooms, public areas, and open decks.
  • Lead and support your team by conducting daily briefings, assigning duties, and providing on-the-job training.
  • Ensure all housekeeping activities comply with SQM standards, USPH regulations, and company safety/environmental policies.
  • Conduct daily inspections of staterooms and ensure exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and coach for continuous improvement and career development.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, taking ownership to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Housekeeping Director to manage inventory, supply requisitions, and cost control measures.
  • Maintain accurate records, including sanitation logs, inspection checklists, and staff performance reports.
  • Uphold our “WAYS” Service and Etiquette philosophy by consistently demonstrating professionalism and respect in guest and crew interactions.


Qualifications and competence:

  • 2+ years of housekeeping leadership experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel, resort, or cruise environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment handling, and chemical usage.
  • Comfortable using computer systems for reporting and inventory tracking.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages such as Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, or German are a plus).
  • Physically fit and able to participate in emergency drills and perform job functions that involve lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
