Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Valid STCW certification, National CoC Reg. III/1, with current endorsement.
- 2 years experience as an Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch for offshore projects.
- Willing to temporarily relocate to China.
- IMO A.1079-compliant qualifications to perform Maintenance Supervisor (MS) or Ballast Control Operator (BOX) roles.
- Strong understanding of marine regulatory framework (MARPOL, class rules, statutory obligations).
- Proven ability to manage and operate engine room and propulsion systems safely during watch.
- Experience with onboard oil & water analysis, fuel handling (bunkering/offloading), and consumable stock management.
- Completion of all relevant trainings and certifications.
- Proficiency in English.
Tasks:
- Report directly to the 2nd Engineer on all engine-room matters.
- Maintain engine-room logbooks and watch procedures according to company policy.
- Monitor and control engine-room machinery and propulsion systems during assigned watch.
- Follow company procedures and vessel management manual for operational compliance.
- Use AMOS (Asset Management Operative System) to schedule inspections, testing, and maintenance of all machinery, including emergency systems.
- Conduct analysis of cooling, sanitary, and oil systems (diesel, lubricants, hydraulic fluids).
- Oversee safe and compliant bunkering, fuel transfers, and related operations.
- Notify 2nd Engineer promptly of spare parts needs for assigned systems.
- Join emergency response team tasks per vessel emergency plan.
- Immediately report any unsafe acts, hazards, near-misses, or incidents to the 2nd or Chief Engineer.
- Ensure no major tasks proceed without authorization from Chief or 2nd Engineer.
- Maintain vessel compliance with classification and international regulations.
- Monitor environmental systems to prevent pollution under MARPOL.
- Accurately calculate and log daily R.O.B. (Remaining on Board fuel/oil).
- Assume and hand over watch in accordance with company procedures.
