OSM Thome Recruitment is looking for experienced Commis to join onboard Royal Caribbean Group.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Prepare and present dishes according to Royal Caribbean's corporate recipes and Gold Anchor Standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and storage areas in compliance with HACCP, USPH, and shipboard public health standards.
• Work across various galley stations including Main Galley, Windjammer, Specialty Restaurants (e.g., Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table, Johnny Rockets™), and Crew Galley.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist in inventory control, food storage, and garbage separation as per company standards.
• Collaborate effectively with galley team members and participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in daily briefings, training, culinary academy courses, and safety drills.

Qualifications and competence:

• Completion of a recognized cook apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a cook in a 4- or 5-star hotel, restaurant, or high-volume food service venue.
• Proficient in basic cooking techniques: sautéing, braising, grilling, and broiling.
• Working knowledge of international cuisines and ingredients.
• Familiarity with sanitation and food safety protocols.
• Strong knife skills and experience operating kitchen equipment (grinders, fryers, mixers, etc.).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Computer literacy is a plus.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, recipes, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced shipboard environment.
