Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- National CoC Reg. III/1 and endorsement.
- OPITO, BOSIET, H2S AND WELL CONTROL LEVEL 1 and STCW required certificates.
- Oversee safe operations and upkeep of engine room machinery and propulsion systems during assigned watch periods.
- Complete and manage technical logs and reports in line with company protocols.
- Take on duties as Maintenance Lead or Ballast Operator when designated, per international maritime standards (IMO A.1079(28)).
- Proficiency in English.
Tasks:
- Supervise and operate engine room systems during assigned shifts.
- Perform routine inspections and servicing of mechanical and safety-critical equipment.
- Execute maintenance schedules as per digital management tools and onboard plans.
- Collect and analyze samples of operational fluids (coolant, sanitary water, fuel, lube oils).
- Participate in fuel handling, including bunkering and offloading procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily fuel/oil inventory and usage records (ROB).
- Log all activities and machinery performance during your duty watch.
- Coordinate with senior engineers for spare part needs and technical assistance.
- Take part in safety drills and perform assigned roles within the emergency response team.
- Immediately report any unsafe acts, system malfunctions, or hazards beyond your scope.
- Seek supervisory approval before initiating critical technical interventions.
- Support compliance with statutory, class, and environmental standards.
- Uphold cleanliness and orderliness within the engine room and workspaces.
- Follow company policies for shift handovers and logbook documentation.
