Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:

  • Background in electrical installation, servicing, or maintenance in an industrial or technical setting.
  • Ability to read and apply electrical diagrams, blueprints, and layout plans.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic instruments like voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and risk management in electrical environments.
  • Experience with both high-voltage, low-voltage, and DC systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical control systems such as SCR and EO systems is an asset.
  • Capable of working under permit-based work systems and following job-specific procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with other teams on site.
  • Committed to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Proficiency in English.

Tasks:

  • Install and connect electrical wiring for machinery, panels, breakers, and transformers.
  • Conduct inspections of tools, equipment, and materials to confirm safe condition.
  • Perform system checks and circuit testing to verify continuity and functionality.
  • Execute work according to layout drawings and technical specifications.
  • Report equipment faults or safety issues promptly to the assigned supervisor.
  • Work in sync with nearby crews to reduce overlap and prevent safety conflicts.
  • Comply with all active work permits and follow outlined safety protocols.
  • Ensure the immediate work zone is regularly cleaned and free of unnecessary hazards.
  • Assist in the upkeep of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control components across land-based operations under supervision.
