OSM Thome Recruitment is seeking experienced Laundry Technicians for exciting career opportunities in the cruise industry, on behalf of Royal Caribbean Group. Position Summary:

The Laundry Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of all shipboard laundry systems. This role ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality laundry services by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing laundry machinery, including tunnel washers, washer/extractors, ironers, and related systems, in full compliance with safety, environmental, and sanitation standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all laundry equipment, including Jensen and Milnor tunnel washers, washer/extractors, and Jensen and Chicago ironers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and timely repairs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines and training to ensure safety and performance standards are met.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with vendors or external technicians when required.

Operational Support

  • Support the laundry team to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality laundry operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and assist with operational adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with sanitation and safety standards at all times.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all ISM/ISO, SQM, USPH, and environmental regulations.
  • Properly use PPE and immediately report any hazards or equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensure all operations meet the company’s safety, hygiene, and environmental protection policies.

Training & Development

  • Stay up to date with manufacturer training and new technologies related to laundry systems.

  • Assist in training other team members in equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall technical and hotel operations of the vessel


Qualifications:

Experience & Education:

  • 3–5 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial laundry systems (cruise ship or hotel experience preferred).
  • Proven hands-on experience with Jensen and Milnor systems (tunnel washers, washer/extractors, ironers).
  • Manufacturer training or certification in these systems is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in cruise ship operations or upscale hospitality environments is essential.

Language Requirements

  • Strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and handle equipment for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Good visual acuity (near, distance, color, and depth perception) and hearing.
  • Physically capable of participating in emergency drills and lifesaving procedures, including operating lifeboats.
  • Full use of arms, legs, and senses to perform duties safely and effectively.
