OSM Thome is recruiting on behalf of Carnival Cruise Lines Photographer Trainee.

As a Photographer Trainee, you’ll work throughout the ship on the promenade deck, in dining rooms, at backdrops, and on the gangway photographing guests and encouraging them to join in the fun! You’ll combine your passion for photography with your enthusiasm for guest interaction and sales to help everyone take home lasting memories.

You’ll be a visible ambassador, engaging with guests daily, answering their questions, and ensuring every interaction contributes to their amazing vacation experience.

• Capture high-quality photos of guests during ship and tour activities throughout the cruise.
• Create and sell professional photographic products and services to guests.
• Set up and maintain photo backdrops, portrait studios, and props.
• Photograph guests in various settings including gangways, embarkation, deck, dining rooms, couples, and costume events.
• Care for and properly maintain all photographic and production equipment.
• Apply photography techniques such as perspective, composition, lighting ratios, and zone focusing.
• Engage warmly with guests, projecting a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
• Conserve photographic materials and reduce waste.
• Learn and operate digital capture systems such as Sherlock for digital-on-demand and hybrid vessels.
• Keep the photo lab, gallery, and sales area organized, clean, and visually appealing.
• Assist in inventory management, including stocking albums, folios, and related materials.
• Adhere to company policies regarding the Silver Recovery System and other safety protocols.
• Suggest reprints, additional products, and film development services to guests.
• Support photo operations, including wedding videography when required.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Photo Manager, including themed or costumed photo sessions.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in a photography-related role.
• Experience in portrait photography.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and work in a performance-driven environment.
• Fluency in conversational English.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Outgoing, pleasant personality with a professional and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with flexibility and a willingness to learn.
• High school diploma and technical training in photography (or equivalent experience).
