OSM Thome Recruitment is looking for experienced Butler for unique career opportunities in the cruise industry, on behalf of Royal Caribbean Group.
The Butler is responsible for delivering an exceptional, seamless in-suite guest experience, ensuring every interaction is personalized, memorable, and aligned with Celebrity Cruises’ highest service standards. As a key member of the Guest Relations team, the Butler acts as the primary liaison between guests and all Hotel and Marine Departments, anticipating needs, facilitating communication, and orchestrating flawless service delivery.
This role requires outstanding hospitality skills, emotional intelligence, strong communication, and excellent organization. The Butler takes full ownership of the ambiance, maintenance, and presentation of assigned suites and ensures all amenities and services are delivered with precision and care. The position plays a vital role in upholding Celebrity Cruises’ World, At Your Service (WAYS) culture and service vision.
Responsibilities and Tasks: - All duties must be performed in accordance with Celebrity Cruises WAYS standards, Standards of Excellence, Public Health protocols, Key Performance Indicators, and environmental and safety policies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and personal advocate for Retreat guests, ensuring comfort, awareness of amenities, ship offerings, ports of call, and exclusive privileges.
- Facilitate seamless communication between guests and shipboard departments, ensuring prompt and accurate service.
- Conduct taste-testing, quality checks, and service screenings to guarantee the highest standards before items reach guests.
- Champion excellence within the Retreat program, continually elevating service standards and overall guest experience.
- Share guest preferences and relevant information across Retreat teams to enhance and personalize the guest journey.
- Maintain full accountability for the appearance, upkeep, and atmosphere of assigned suites, ensuring all standards are met.
- Ensure flawless coordination and delivery of all in-suite amenities and services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- External Candidate Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of guest-facing service experience in a luxury environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Polished, confident appearance with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Strong emotional intelligence, resourcefulness, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Solid knowledge of food and beverage service, with the confidence to speak about and properly serve premium items.
- Ability to perform all core responsibilities and comply with all reasonable company directives.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to speak clear, cordial, and professional English.
Ability to read, write, and interpret English-language procedures and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
Additional languages—such as Spanish, French, or German—are preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and manual handling tasks.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs routinely.
- Strong vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment).
- Must be fully capable of participating in emergency drills and lifesaving procedures, including lifeboat operations.
- Full mobility, vision, hearing, and communication abilities required for emergency response.
WORK HOURS
Must remain on call to meet guest needs while adhering to MLC requirements and working under the direction of the Retreat Manager.
