Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Ordinary Seaman (O/S) to assist with deck maintenance, vessel operations, and daily safety routines. This role is essential in maintaining the vessel’s exterior spaces, supporting deck operations during port calls, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-minded, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a diverse deck team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance tasks, including cleaning, washing, painting, and surface preparation on decks and superstructures.
• Assist with routine and planned deck maintenance, inspections, and equipment care.
• Maintain deck spaces in clean, safe, and organized condition; ensure proper storage of tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and comply with daily instructions from the Bosun and supervisors.
• Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or environmental concerns immediately.
• Participate in shipboard meetings, drills, and mandatory safety and operational training.
• Provide guidance to less experienced deck crew when necessary.
• Support deck officers and assist with guest-facing deck operations as required.
• Follow the company’s Safety and Quality Management System (SQM), Emergency Plan, and environmental policies.
• Perform additional deck duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a deck role (Sailor/AB/O/S or similar).
• Valid STCW Basic Safety Training (BST).
• STCW II/4 Navigational Watch Rating (or Flag State–approved equivalent) is required.
• Strong awareness of safe working practices, environmental compliance, and deck operations.
• Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and work well within a multicultural team.
• Good customer service skills when interacting with guests and crew.

Physical & Language Requirements:

• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to understand and follow written procedures and safety instructions.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, reach, and use hands continuously while working.
• Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather, temperature changes, and ship movement.
• Able to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and around machinery.
• Must be fully capable of participating in emergency duties, including lifeboat operations.
