Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Secondary school qualification or equivalent technical education.
- Minimum 5 years total experience, including at least 3 years in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Hands-on background in Hook-Up / offshore installation activities.
- COMPEX certification (mandatory).
- INSEMEX certification (strong advantage).
- Solid understanding of electrical codes, industry standards, and QA/QC processes.
- Proficiency in English.
Tasks:
- Carry out on-site electrical quality inspections and document all results in accordance with project quality requirements.
- Verify that electrical works comply with applicable standards, company procedures, and approved Quality/Inspection Test Plans.
- Inspect incoming materials and installed equipment, completing quality reports for each activity.
- Raise non-conformance reports when deviations are found and communicate them to the QC Supervisor.
- Review and verify cable routing, cable identification, and proper installation practices.
- Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment—such as switchboards, transformers, batteries, lighting circuits, and outlets—in line with approved inspection plans.
- Perform visual checks, dimensional verification, and material/rating confirmation for electrical terminations and components.
- Conduct electrical tests including continuity and insulation resistance.
- Monitor the installation of electrical materials and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Witness functional checks and commissioning activities.
- Confirm correct cable termination procedures and test results.
- Verify special electrical processes and ensure involved personnel hold required qualifications.
- Review test procedures, tools, and equipment used during inspections to ensure correctness and traceability.
- Maintain, organize, and validate all documentation related to inspections, tests, and quality records for inclusion in the final as-built package.
- For subcontracted work, oversee adherence to approved quality plans, witness inspections, and gather all supporting QC documentation.
