As one of the flagship vessels in our Hurtigruten Signature concept, MS Finnmarken delivers the ultimate Norwegian coastal experience. We are looking for an experienced Reception Manager to oversee all front desk operations, including the onboard shop, wellness, and spa areas, and ensure exceptional guest service throughout the voyage.
Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, you will play a vital role on the senior management team with full responsibility for service quality, financial performance, team leadership, and the successful delivery of our signature standards

As Reception Manager, you will be responsible for:
• The operation of the reception, personnel responsibility and follow-up of reception staff and apprentices
• Responsible for the onboard shop as well as the Spa and Wellness areas. This includes full accountability for the operation and performance
• Financial results at the reception, shop, spa, and wellness. Including budget and time consumption.
• To be a commercial driving force for sales in all departments on board in close cooperation with the hotel manager. Ensure that commercial activities are carried out in accordance with governing documents and, together with the hotel manager, ensure that the highest possible revenues are achieved
• Follow and ensure that everyone in the department follows Hurtigruten's "Code of Conduct"
• Ensure that everyone at reception works according to standards set in governing documents, laws and regulations
• Attend daily meetings with the hotel manager to ensure goal achievement, financial results, and organise daily chores and events
• Ship accounting and reporting on a monthly basis, including processing of daily settlements
• Member of the hotel's management team on board the ship
• All reception-related tasks
• Ensure that the quality in your department is always excellent and that guests feel at home
Qualifications:
• Basic Safety Training for Seafarers (STCW)
• Crisis and Passenger Handling Course (STCW)
• Approved medical certificate from a maritime doctor
• Strong IT skills and experience with Windows 2000/XP, Word, Excel, MS Outlook
• Defibrillator training
• You must be fluent in German and English
• Personal suitability will be emphasised
• All employees must have the Basic safety course for seafarers STCW AV/1-1, 1-2, 1-1, 1-4, Crowd and Crises management course STCW AV/2, and an approved health certificate from an authorised seafarer doctor. There is no requirement to have completed the courses before applying, but you must be willing to take them
Preferred:
• Hotel Management education or equivalent, and/or vocational certificate in reception work
• Extensive experience in reception, preferably as a Front Desk Manager
• Knowledge and experience with Fidelio Cruise (or similar Ship Management System) is an advantage
• HMOB certificate is a plus
• Medical First Aid course
• Strong language skills
