Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in pipe fitting or related mechanical work.
- 3–5+ years exposure to welding support activities (fit-up, preparation, coordination).
- Practical understanding of SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
- Proficient in hot and cold cutting methods, including oxy-fuel and plasma cutting.
- Hands-on experience with machining operations (lathe, milling, drilling).
- Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, bevel details, and piping layouts.
- Experience working with carbon steel, clad materials, Inconel 625/825, and stainless steels (314L, 316L).
- Proven background in onshore and offshore pipeline projects.
- Prior work exposure in fabrication yards, refineries, power plants, shipyards, and offshore installations.
- Familiarity with rigging, lifting operations, torquing, and mechanical assembly.
- Good command of the English language for site communication and documentation.
Tasks:
- Carry out pipe fitting activities in compliance with approved safety procedures and quality standards.
- Execute pipe cutting, edge preparation, beveling, fit-up, prefabrication, and final installation works.
- Read and apply information from isometric drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Perform accurate alignment and assembly of piping systems and related components.
- Coordinate work sequences with nearby trades to prevent clashes and unsafe work conditions.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and materials prior to use and report defects or hazards immediately.
- Follow daily work plans and instructions issued by the Foreman or Supervisor.
- Comply with permit-to-work requirements and site control measures at all times.
- Support lifting, rigging, torquing, and mechanical assembly activities as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout operations.
