Join OSM Thome as Chief Officer on a worldwide trading crude oil tanker. Take charge of deck operations, cargo handling and navigation, and support the Master in running a safe and efficient vessel.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise crude oil cargo operations, loading, discharging and tank cleaning
• Lead and manage the deck crew in all deck and maintenance work
• Stand bridge watch and assist the Master with safe navigation and ship handling
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with company procedures, ISM, ISPS and MARPOL
• Maintain and update deck and cargo documentation and records
• Oversee safety drills, safety equipment and emergency preparedness

Requirements

• Valid Chief Officer (Unlimited) license
• Recent experience as C/O or 1/O on crude oil tankers
• Valid tanker endorsements and relevant STCW certificates
• Strong cargo handling and ballast management experience on crude oil tankers
• Good English communication skills
• Strong safety mindset and leadership skills
