Join OSM Thome as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook on a passenger ocean cruise vessel sailing from the Netherlands. Support the galley team in preparing tasty and well-presented meals for guests and crew, while keeping high standards of safety and hygiene.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Cook in daily food preparation and cooking
- Prepare crew meals and help with passenger buffet and à la carte service
- Assist in menu preparation, portioning and food presentation
- Follow galley cleaning routines and maintain food safety standards
- Handle stores: receiving, checking and proper storage of provisions
- Support in stock control and reporting shortages or damaged items
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook at sea, preferably on passenger vessels
- Basic knowledge of hot and cold galley work
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness for sea service
- Good English communication skills
- Team player with a positive attitude and flexible approach to work
- Strong focus on hygiene, safety and quality of food
