Join OSM Thome as Chief Officer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will work closely with the Master and lead the deck team to ensure safe and efficient cargo and ship operations across global routes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Master in safe navigation and ship management
• Plan and supervise cargo loading, stowage, securing, and discharge
• Lead and manage the deck crew in daily operations and maintenance
• Oversee deck maintenance, safety equipment, and LSA/FFA readiness
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISM, and international regulations
• Conduct safety drills, inspections, and toolbox talks

Requirements

• Valid Chief Officer / Chief Mate license (unlimited), STCW compliant
• Recent experience as C/O on bulk carriers
• Strong cargo handling and stability knowledge for bulk operations
• Good leadership, communication, and crew management skills
• Valid STCW certificates, medical fitness, and travel documents
• Good command of English, spoken and written
