Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Certified Navigational Watch Rating with documented sea time on dynamically positioned vessels.
- Demonstrated comfort working on ultra-deepwater, high-automation drillships.
- Practical understanding of integrated bridge systems beyond basic lookout functions.
- Proven ability to maintain alertness during extended night and low-visibility operations.
- Familiarity with DP-driven navigational constraints around subsea assets and exclusion zones.
- Clear spoken English for rapid operational communication on a multinational bridge team.
- High situational awareness and disciplined adherence to bridge authority protocols.
- Physically fit for ladder access, bridge wing exposure, and emergency response duties.
Tasks:
- Support the bridge team by maintaining continuous visual and radar-assisted awareness of surrounding traffic and hazards.
- Execute steering and helm inputs precisely as directed during critical vessel movements.
- Actively monitor navigation, positioning, and alarm status on integrated bridge displays.
- Assist with controlled vessel approaches, offsets, and standby positioning near offshore installations.
- Perform routine bridge rounds to confirm readiness of navigation and signaling equipment.
- Relay clear, timely observations to the Officer of the Watch without interpretation or delay.
- Participate in drills, navigational briefings, and pre-operation risk discussions.
- Contribute to maintaining a focused, orderly bridge environment during drilling and transit modes.
