OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer (2/E) to serve on crude oil tankers trading worldwide. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and systems.

• Key responsibilities:
• Assist the Chief Engineer in managing and operating all engine room equipment and auxiliary machinery
• Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain main engine, generators, pumps, purifiers and other critical systems
• Plan and carry out routine and preventive maintenance as per PMS and makers’ instructions
• Ensure safe engine room operations in line with company procedures, Class and statutory regulations
• Keep accurate engine room logs, records and reports
• Support bunkering operations and fuel/oil management
• Lead and train junior engine room staff in safe working practices

• Requirements:
• Valid STCW III/2 Chief Engineer Officer (unlimited) or 2nd Engineer license appropriate for rank and vessel type
• Recent experience as 2/E on crude oil tankers
• Good knowledge of main engine and auxiliary systems on ocean‑going tankers
• Valid STCW certificates, tanker endorsements and medical fitness
• Strong safety mindset, good teamwork and communication skills in English
