Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer on an Oil/Chemical Tanker trading in the North Sea. You will support safe and efficient engine room operations, working closely with the Chief Engineer and the rest of the engine team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist Chief Engineer in running, monitoring and maintaining all engine room machinery and systems
- Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on main engine, auxiliaries and related equipment
- Operate and monitor fuel, lube oil, ballast and bilge systems as per company and vessel procedures
- Ensure safe and efficient engine room watchkeeping and recordkeeping
- Follow safety, environmental and pollution prevention procedures, especially for tanker operations
- Support bunkering, cargo operations and other critical shipboard activities when required
Requirements
- Valid 2nd Engineer (III/2) CoC, Motor, meeting STCW requirements
- Recent experience as 2/E or strong 3/E experience on Oil/Chemical Tankers
- Valid tanker endorsements (Oil/Chemical) and all required STCW certificates
- Good knowledge of engine room operations, maintenance and safety procedures
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written
- Medically fit for sea service, with valid seafarer medical certificate
