Join OSM Thome as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook on a passenger ocean cruise vessel trading from Spain. You will support the Galley team in preparing tasty and well-presented meals for guests and crew, following set menus and company standards.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Cook in daily food preparation and cooking for passengers and crew
- Help with breakfast, lunch, dinner and special menus as instructed
- Follow recipes, portion control, hygiene and safety procedures
- Support stock control, checking deliveries and proper storage of food items
- Keep galley, equipment and working areas clean and in good order
- Work closely with the galley team to ensure smooth service during meal times
- Requirements:
- Previous experience at sea as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook, preferably on passenger / cruise vessels
- Basic education and recognized culinary / cook training an advantage
- Valid STCW certificates and seagoing documents as per flag and company requirements
- Good knowledge of galley safety, food hygiene and HACCP practices
- Ability to work in shifts and under time pressure in a busy galley
- Good English communication skills and team-player attitude
