Information about the job: 

  • Job Title: Welding QC Inspector.
  • Project: Multipurpose DP3 vessel.
  • Location: Worldwide (currently in Romania).
  • Duration: 12 months (renewable).
  • Rotation: 90/30 days on/off or 56/28 days on/off.
  • Salary: Please state your realistic expectations when applying. This will be discussed with the right candidate. Consolidated monthly paid only while working.
  • Start date: ASAP (Approximately June 2026).
  • Insurance: Provided by the company.
  • Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.


Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:

  • Certified Welding CSWIP 3.1.
  • Minimum of 3 years of offshore pipeline experience or hook-up.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness to work internationally and travel frequently.
  • Strong knowledge of coating application procedures, inspection techniques, and international standards.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.


Tasks:

  • Perform inspections and monitor all welding activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards (such as ASME, AWS, ISO).
  • Review and verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welds, as well as non-destructive testing (NDT) surveillance, and ensure weld quality and workmanship meet acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor pre-welding, welding, and post-welding operations including fit-up, alignment, heat input, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment.
  • Identify and report non-conformities and assist in the development of corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, welding logs, and reports.
  • Coordinate with the construction team, welding supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues related to welding.
  • Ensure that welding equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to welding quality.
  • Ensure that all safety practices are strictly followed during welding operations.
