Electro Technical Officer (ETO) – Car Carrier – Worldwide
**Description**
OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to serve on board a car carrier vessel trading worldwide. The ETO will be responsible for all electrical and electronic systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation in accordance with company and flag state standards (Philippines flag).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate, maintain and repair all electrical and electronic equipment on board
- Maintain power generation and distribution systems, including main switchboard and emergency systems
- Carry out planned maintenance and troubleshooting of navigation, communication and automation systems
- Ensure proper maintenance of cargo handling and safety systems, including alarms and monitoring equipment
- Keep accurate maintenance and repair records in line with company procedures and RFL standards
- Cooperate closely with the engine and deck departments to support safe vessel operations
- Assist during inspections, audits and port state control as required
**Requirements**
- Minimum 1 year seagoing experience as Electro Technical Officer or equivalent rank
- Valid ETO or equivalent electro-technical STCW certification appropriate for sea service
- Experience on car carrier or similar vessel type preferred
- Familiar with marine electrical, electronic, automation and control systems
- Valid seafarer documents in accordance with flag (Philippines) and international regulations
- Good command of written and spoken English suitable for shipboard operations
- Fit for duty as per maritime medical standards
