  • Job Title: OOW Engineering Watch DP.
  • Project: DP Heavy Lift vessel.
  • Location: Worldwide (currently in Saudi Arabia).
  • Rotation: 35/35 days on/off.
  • Salary: Please confirm your realistic expectations when applying. This will be discussed with the right candidate. Consolidated monthly salary (Paid only whilst working).
  • Duration: 12 months (renewable).
  • Contract Start: TBC.
  • Insurances: Provided by the company.
  • Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.


Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:

  • Minimum 3 years’ sea service on DP-enabled offshore construction or heavy-lift vessels, including DP3 operations.
  • Prior approval by Saudi Aramco as Third Engineer on offshore or marine construction projects preferred.
  • STCW Certificates: OOW (Engineering) CoC – STCW A-III/1, STCW Basic Safety: A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2, A-VI/1-3, A-VI/1-4, Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boat (other than fast rescue boat) – STCW A-VI/2-1, Advanced Firefighting – STCW A-VI/3, Medical First Aid – STCW A-VI/4-1, Security Awareness - STCW A-VI/6-1, Security Duties – STCW A-VI/6-2, Leadership & Teamwork (Engine, O/L) – STCW A-III/1, High Voltage (Operational Level) – STCW A-III/1.
  • Basic offshore safety & emergency training including HUET and CA-EBS, H₂S Awareness, Well Control Level 1.
  • Proven experience standing engineering watch on complex marine power and propulsion systems.
  • Familiarity with K-Chief 700 automation systems, power management systems, and thruster maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of DP vessel redundancy, emergency response, and damage control procedures.
  • Ability to work within multinational crews under offshore project and client compliance standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.


Tasks:

  • Maintain a safe and efficient engineering watch during DP and offshore construction activities.
  • Monitor propulsion, power generation, auxiliary, and automation systems to ensure uninterrupted vessel operations.
  • Support maintenance and troubleshooting of thrusters, switchboards, PMS, and DP-related machinery.
  • Assist with planned maintenance routines and machinery performance reporting.
  • Respond to alarms, equipment faults, and emergency situations in accordance with vessel procedures.
  • Participate in bunkering, engine room inspections, safety drills, and permit-to-work activities.
  • Coordinate with engine room and bridge teams to support safe DP operations and project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company SMS, class requirements, and client operational standards.
  • Contribute to emergency preparedness, damage control, and safe return-to-port readiness.
  • Maintain accurate engine room logs, maintenance records, and spare parts documentation.
