OSM Thome Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic and energetic Youth Counselors to join our onboard youth program team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with children and teenagers in a fun, international, and fast-paced hospitality environment.

As a Youth Counselor, you will play an important role in delivering the award-winning Camp at Sea program, actively promoting activities focused on Art, Culinary, Recreation, and STEM for guests aged 3–17 years. You will help create safe, engaging, and memorable experiences for families while ensuring the highest standards of service, safety, and professionalism.

Responsibilities and Tasks: 

  • Support and execute daily youth activities and family programming for children and teenagers aged 3–17
  • Assist with toddler time, babysitting services, holiday activations, and partnership events
  • Create a fun, safe, and age-appropriate environment for all participants
  • Supervise and interact with children while maintaining constant awareness of their safety and wellbeing
  • Lead activities, games, educational sessions, and group events with energy and enthusiasm
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating leadership, friendliness, sportsmanship, and professionalism
  • Assist with embarkation procedures by providing information regarding the Youth Program and evacuation procedures
  • Ensure compliance with Royal Caribbean Group standards, USPH guidelines, and safety procedures
  • Prepare activity areas and supplies while maintaining cleanliness and organization
  • Support marketing and participation efforts for onboard youth programs
  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and shipboard activities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, or a related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing or supervising recreational activities for large groups of youth aged 3–17
  • Previous experience working in youth groups, camps, schools, or similar environments preferred
  • Energetic, outgoing, and positive personality with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and manage large groups of children and teenagers effectively
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse international team
  • Good organizational skills and attention to safety procedures
  • Infant and child CPR certification and lifesaving certification preferred
  • Good computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
