Information about the job: 

  • Job Title: Engineering Watch Rating.
  • Project: Various Offshore Vessels.
  • Location: Worldwide.
  • Rotation: 165/30 days on/off or 56/28 days on/off.
  • Salary: Please confirm your realistic expectations when applying. This will be discussed with the right candidate. Consolidated monthly salary (Paid only whilst working).
  • Duration: 12 months (renewable).
  • Contract Start: TBC.
  • Insurances: Provided by the company.
  • Overtime: Applicable.
  • Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.


Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:

  • Minimum 2 years of engine-room sea service for senior/expert level roles.
  • Previous experience on offshore or construction vessels preferred.
  • STCW Certificates: Engineering Watch Rating CoP – STCW III/4, STCW Basic Safety: A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2, A-VI/1-3, A-VI/1-4, Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boat (other than fast rescue boat) – STCW A-VI/2-1, Advanced Firefighting – STCW A-VI/3, Security Awareness - STCW A-VI/6-1, Security Duties – STCW A-VI/6-2.
  • Basic offshore safety & emergency training including HUET and CA-EBS, H₂S Awareness.
  • Knowledge of marine machinery operations and planned maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work within watchkeeping schedules and follow engineering instructions.
  • Strong commitment to onboard safety and compliance procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.


Tasks:

  • Report directly to the Engineer on Watch and complete assigned duties.
  • Assist with daily engine-room watchkeeping activities and monitoring routines.
  • Support operation of main engines, auxiliary systems, and related machinery.
  • Perform maintenance and basic repair work within certification limits.
  • Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and equipment checks.
  • Follow safe working practices and vessel maintenance procedures.
  • Identify and report equipment faults or irregular operating conditions.
  • Assist during bunkering, machinery start-up, shutdown, and operational testing.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in machinery spaces and workshops.
  • Cooperate with the engineering team to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
