Integrated Control Systems Technician, FPSO, East Mediterranean
4 weeks offshore / 4 weeks onshore rotation
Responsibilities and tasks:
- The Integrated Control Systems Technician role will ensure that all Integrated Controls & Safety Systems work is carried out safely and in accordance with the Floating Production Storage and Offloading FPSO processes in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the development maintenance of the electrical / instrumentation control equipment / systems distribution systems procedures and competency requirements to ensure continues functionality.
YARD PHASE
- Reporting to on shift Energean OTL (Operations Team Lead)
- ICSS Technician primarily responsible for the ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of the DCS system
- Carry out planned maintenance, repairs, fault finding, calibration, certification and modifications on a range of instrument industrial and control systems including.
- Instrument protection systems
- Fire and gas detection
- Field and analytical instrumentation
- Telemetered systems
- SCADA / HMI / PLC / PROFIBUS / Ethernet systems
- Flow monitoring equipment
- Control circuits
- Safety instrumented loops
- Communications networks
- Demonstration and acceptance of walk down, pre-check of system for handover.
- Participation in ensuring that preservation activities are completed to a high standard to make sure that equipment is ready to operate when on location with minimal delay to start-up.
- On site walk through and dry runs of the system operating manuals to make sure that they are fit for purpose and accurate.
- Technical focal point/representative for new projects to ensure designed for reliability.
- Development and implementation of mechanical plant modifications, either directly or via contractors.
- Collaborating with the ICSS vendors for all equipment installations and modifications.
- Assists specialists working under Specific Maintenance Contracts (SMC)
- Carries out, at site representative’s request and Energean Validation, any intervention within his field of competence.
- Process safety review of equipment and systems pre-start-up of FPSO Energean Power.
- Identify, assess and mitigate hazards to safety, both personal and process, that present a risk to safety on board the FPSO. Indicate any areas of concern to line Supervisor
- Maintain zero accidents by complying to all Safety rules & regulations
- Stop Work that is unsafe or likely to cause damage
- Participate and actively encourage fostering of a ONE TEAM approach for the crew and third-party contractors’ staff that will be part of the core team make up.
OPERATIONAL
- Responsible for effective planning and execution of Integrated Controls & Safety Systems work scope.
- Ensures that Energean’s HSE regulations are respected (especially procedures related to Work Permits), as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during preparation and performance of maintenance operations placed under his responsibility,
- Organises and performs on site the maintenance Operations which are placed under his responsibility.
- Assists the Planning Engineer with the resourcing and suitable planning input to ensure a quality preparation and execution of all ICSS and Systems works
- Responsible for attaining and maintaining Competence Management Assurance System
- Responsible for maintaining personal Control of Work- (CoW) competencies. Perform the role of (PA) Performing Authority, (IA) Isolating Authority in the framework of the CoW.
- Ensure CMMS work requests are sufficiently detailed, clearly defining the scope of work or nature of problem along with basic planning information, on completion recording work history with sufficient level of technical detail.
- Responsible for training, coaching and assessing less experienced team members.
- Stop Work that is unsafe or likely to cause damage.
- Demonstration and acceptance of walk down, pre-check of system for handover.
- Identify, assess and mitigate hazards to safety, both personal and process, that present a risk to safety on board the FPSO. Indicate any areas of concern to line Supervisor and Area Authority.
- Responsible for carrying out personal safety commitments via Energean Behavioural Observation - Internal system, procedures and provide feedback to line supervisor on requirement to update or amend.
- Takes in charge the systems under his responsibility in case of breakdown until correct operation is resumed.
- Maintains an accurate and auditable log of all system faults and inhibits (Short term and long term)
- Ensure effective systems are maintained for the identification, assessment and control of significant environmental risks at site.
- Ensures that all maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment are carried out in a safe manner and in strict compliance with Energean operating procedures and any statutory legislation in order to maintain all such equipment in safe and sound operating condition.
- Member of Emergency Response (ER) teams as Central Control Room (CCR) team member
- Responsible for timely execution of all ICSS system maintenance, including Major Accident Critical Equipment –MACE
- Responsible for ensuring that all ICSS maintenance is fully & accurately recorded in Maximo system.
- Monitors (and in certain plant – Operates) the functioning of any equipment placed under his responsibility ▪ Verifies the quality of his interventions by frequent checks prior to hand-back of critical or high integrity equipment to production after maintenance activity.
- Performs trouble shooting in the ICSS, PLC, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring performance monitoring programs are managed on site.
- Participation in ensuring that preservation activities are completed to a high standard to make sure that equipment is ready to operate when on location with minimal delay
- Working with project teams as part of the system walk downs, punch listing and handover.
- On site walk through and dry runs of the system operating manuals to make sure that they are fit for purpose and accurate.
- Identifies recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyses them and suggests improvements,
- Keeps a critical eye on current preventive maintenance programmes and, if need be, suggests improvements to Energean
- Warns support and planning teams of any recurring problems related to the availability or quality of spare parts,
- Active participation in the HSEQ monitoring programs and highlighting of potential risk areas to Energean.
- Responsible for input to & implementation of TQs / Management of Change
- Participate and actively encourage fostering of a ONE TEAM approach for the O&M crew and the third-party contractors staff that will be part of the core team make up.
- In all cases looking out for Energean best interests.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A trade technician or graduate development role with a core skill of Production / Instrument / Automation or Electrical who has developed a second skill (s) and is therefore deemed multi-skilled.
- HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Control and Instrumentation.
- COMPEX Certification.

- Job-Specific Skills:
- Extensive experience in the field of Instrument & Control maintenance engineering support in the oil and gas industry.
