OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Fitter to join our crude oil tanker fleet trading worldwide. You will work closely with the deck and engine teams to keep the vessel safe, seaworthy and in good working condition.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out steel repairs, pipe fitting and welding jobs as instructed
• Maintain and repair hull structures, tanks, ladders, rails and fittings
• Assist engine crew with maintenance of mechanical equipment and piping systems
• Prepare and use tools, welding and cutting equipment safely
• Follow permit-to-work, safety rules and hot work procedures at all times
• Support general deck and engine maintenance as required by ship’s officers

Requirements

• Previous sea service as Fitter, preferably on crude oil tankers
• Strong skills in welding, cutting, grinding and fitting (steel and pipes)
• Valid STCW certificates and medical fit for sea duty
• Good English communication skills
• Safety-minded, hard-working and able to work well in a multinational crew
