Messman – Tanker (Oil/Chemical) – Norway (NIS) Flag – Worldwide
**Description**
OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Messman to serve on board oil/chemical tanker vessels under Norway (NIS) flag, trading worldwide. The Messman will support the galley and catering operations and maintain cleanliness and order in accommodation and pantry areas.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist Cook/Chief Cook in meal preparation and service
- Set up, serve, and clear mess rooms for officers and crew
- Clean galley, mess rooms, pantries, and accommodation as assigned
- Handle dishwashing, garbage segregation, and disposal as per procedures
- Maintain stocks of catering and cleaning supplies in assigned areas
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and environmental rules and instructions
**Requirements**
- Minimum 1 year sea experience as Messman or similar catering role
- Experience on tanker vessels preferred (oil/chemical)
- Valid STCW certificates as required for rank
- Valid seafarer medical certificate
- Ability to communicate in English for shipboard operations
- Willingness to work in a multinational crew and follow company procedures
