Messman – Tanker (Oil/Chemical) – Norway (NIS Flag) – Worldwide Trading
**Description**
OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Messman to serve on board an oil/chemical tanker under Norway (NIS) flag, trading worldwide.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in preparation and serving of meals for crew and officers
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of galley, mess rooms, pantry and related stores
- Wash dishes, utensils and galley equipment
- Collect and dispose of galley and mess room garbage as per procedures
- Assist Cook/Chief Steward with storing and issuing provisions
- Follow all safety, hygiene and environmental procedures on board
**Requirements**
- Minimum 1 year sea service as Messman (or similar catering rating)
- Experience on tankers (oil/chemical) preferred
- Basic knowledge of galley and mess room hygiene and food handling
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a multi‑national crew
- Valid seafarer documents and certificates as required for rank and vessel type
