Cadet Development Officer

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support global cadet training and enhancement programs to improve cadet skills.
• Work with regional Cadet Coordinators to ensure training is done consistently across all areas.
• Encourage cadets to focus on high performance, safety, and company values.
• Conduct Interview and assist with recruitment of qualified candidates to meet company manpower needs
• Regularly monitor cadet well-being and track the completion of mandatory documentation—including the Training Record Book (TRB) and other academic or training requirements—especially during shipboard deployment.
• Maintain consistent touchpoints with active cadets to monitor progress and guarantee that all monthly status reports are submitted on schedule.
• Track cadets as they progress toward becoming Junior Officers, monitoring their licenses and readiness.
• Assist with promotional assessments, Enhancement Training and mentoring programs.
• Perform other task as delegated by Direct Manager

Required Qualifications/Experiences:

• At least a graduate of Graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) or Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) course.
• At least 2 years of shipboard sailing experience as a deck or engine cadet/officer.
• Work experience in Crewing and Training is preferred
• Good knowledge of latest version of STCW training requirements for seafarers
• Effective at managing client and stakeholder relationships
• Budget Preparation
• Good communication and presentation skills. – written and verbal
• Counselling (preferable)
