Overview:
- The position is responsible to support the activities related to the Cadet Program and ensure that customers and Cadets’ requirements under the program are met and satisfied.
- The position handles all communication with Crewing regarding vessel requirements of those under the Future Leaders Program and Catering Education Program.
- The position is responsible to coordinate with global Cadet team in relation to implementation of the cadet program globally in support of Crew Management strategies.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Ensure that the cadets submitted to the fleets are ready for promotion to officer have met all the promotion criteria and have completed the company required training.
- Propose, execute and monitor the rotation planning in crewing system
- Coordinate crew relief status/plan with the PIC onboard as applicable
- Conduct debriefing for those disembarking cadets incl. catering trainee in terms of checking completeness of Training Record Book (TRB)
- Update team with the changes in the requirements
- Propose for position of a qualified candidate with no rotation plan from OSM Thome Pool (Cadets or Junior Officers without line up or those with recommendation for promotion) as per availability list
- Monitor cadet sea service requirements.
- Ensure flight and other transportation reimbursements are processed accordingly in relation to shipboard training phase
- Monitor performance evaluation and propose to fill-in the gap training, coaching and mentoring.
- Update information in crewing system, including sign on, sign off, tentative Junior officer readiness.
- Prepares monitoring reports as required by the quality system.
- Coordinate and assist cadet activities and initiatives
- Perform other task as delegated by Direct Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- At least a graduate of any Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 3 years of work experience in Crew Manning Services responsible for crew planning and deployment
- Good knowledge of latest version of STCW training requirements for seafarers
- Effective at managing client and stakeholder relationships
- Budget Preparation
- Good communication and presentation skills. – written and verbal
- Counselling (preferable)
