Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Work closely with the Chief Engineer to keep all engine room machinery running safely and efficiently, and support safe vessel operations on all voyages.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in day-to-day engine room operations and maintenance
- Monitor and operate main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs
- Maintain engine room logs, records and reports
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company procedures
- Supervise engine room ratings during watch and maintenance work
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) CoC, compliant with STCW
- Experience as 2/E on bulk carriers preferred
- Valid STCW certificates, medical and travel documents
- Good English communication skills
- Strong safety mindset and good teamwork attitude
