Set sail with OSM Thome as an Able Seafarer (AB) on a modern car carrier, trading worldwide. Work with an experienced crew, keep the vessel safe and shipshape, and build your sea service in a professional, international environment.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out deck maintenance, cleaning, chipping and painting
- Handle mooring and unmooring operations safely
- Stand lookout and helm watch as directed by the officer on watch
- Assist with cargo operations and lashing of vehicles
- Participate in drills and follow all safety procedures on board
- Requirements:
- Valid AB CoC and STCW certificates
- Previous experience as AB, preferably on car carriers or similar vessels
- Valid seafarer medical and seaman’s book
- Good English communication skills
- Fit for deck work and committed to safe working practices
