Information about the job:
- Job Title: Pipe Fitter.
- Project: Various Hook Up Projects.
- Location: Worldwide (currently for Qatar).
- Rotation: 165/30 on/off or 56/28 days on/off.
- Salary: Please confirm your realistic expectations when applying. This will be discussed with the right candidate. Consolidated monthly salary (not paid while on rotational leave ).
- Overtime: Applicable.
- Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable).
- Contract Start: TBC.
- Insurances: Provided by the company.
- Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.
Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience in a similar role.
- At least 3–5 years of practical experience in welding-related operations.
- Working knowledge of SMAW and FCAW manual welding methods.
- Experience with both hot and cold cutting techniques.
- Familiarity with oxy-fuel and plasma cutting equipment and procedures.
- Ability to operate workshop machinery, including milling, turning, lathe, and drilling equipment.
- Ability to interpret isometric drawings and technical fabrication documents.
- Understanding of pipe bevel preparation, fittings, bolting/torque procedures, and structural steel works.
- Knowledge of lifting, rigging, installation, and mechanical assembly activities.
- Hands-on experience with carbon steel pipelines, clad materials, Inconel 625/825, and stainless steels such as 314L and 316L.
- Previous involvement in onshore and offshore pipeline projects.
- Background in heavy industrial environments, including fabrication facilities, refineries, power generation sites, shipyards, offshore structures, or renewable energy installations.
- Experience supporting marine and offshore construction elements such as decks, conductors, piling systems, and boat landings.
- Current training records, trade certifications, and employment references demonstrating relevant experience.
Tasks:
- Perform welding, cutting, and metal preparation activities in accordance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Operate workshop and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and apply information from isometric drawings and technical specifications.
- Prepare bevels, install fittings, and carry out torque-controlled assembly work.
- Support steel fabrication, structural assembly, and erection activities.
- Execute lifting and rigging tasks in line with approved procedures.
- Participate in mechanical installation and equipment assembly works.
- Work with a range of metallic materials used in industrial, marine, and energy projects.
- Contribute to pipeline, offshore, and heavy construction operations while maintaining compliance with safety and quality requirements.
